CLASSIC INN WITH MARVELOUS FOOD

We are driving around New England and picked this place based on reviews and location. It is nestled in the hill country of Jackson, New Hampshire juxtaposed to the White Mountains. It is an old establishment with dignified charm. The elevators are ancient but serviceable. The rooms are large and well maintained. Ours had a refrigerator. The lobby is of another time reminding us of craftsmanship not often seen in our modern world. The staff was friendly and check-in a breeze. One can sit on the porch in a rocking chair and relax looking at the mountains. There is a heated pool and a 9- hole golf course. Parking is ample and simple to maneuver. You may drive into Conway on the main road or avoid the traffic and take the West Road--a shortcut we learned from the staff. But the very best part of our stay was the food. Superb. The best we have had so far. The menu is distinctive, the ingredients local, and the tastes divine. You need not eat anywhere else. We want to recommend our waiter, Zack, who was friendly, efficient, and a credit to the establishment. This place is a gem and we recommend it highly. Please come here.

Perfect wedding venue and cozy getaway

This place specializes in rustic charm and classic elegance; it is a nostalgic trip back to the time of Teddy Roosevelt and the railroad hotels across America. Also a reasonable rate. Not all modernized, which I appreciated. We had our wedding there, and everyone in the party wanted to return next year for an anniversary party! Very comfortable for families with great pool and game room. Beautifully decorated rooms. Relaxed and did feel, as they say, "like Grandma's house." Breathtaking views from front rooms. Neat stream with rocks to climb on, nearby. Jackson feels like an enchanted oasis away from it all. And a super helpful wedding planner is free!

Excellent, Beautiful Stay

Excellent stay! Beautiful location and building. Love the atmosphere and historical theme to the hotel and area. The place made you feel welcome and comfortable with the great staff and cleanliness. Definitely will return for another stay in the near future. With all there is to do in the surrounding area, I could see ourselves staying here many times over.

Excellent Location, Historic Hotel, Comfortable Stay

This hotel could not have a prettier location. Even the street it is on is flanked by a creek that splashes over rocks and cascades over boulders. You can park along the road and walk to the creek, sit on the boulders and soak in the scenery. Artists are drawn to this place as well.

Once you reach the hotel, you will be impressed by the size of the building and the scenery that surrounds it. This hotel is one of the Historic Hotels of America, and you will appreciate the lobby that looks as if you were on a movie set from a Bogart movie. There are verandas along the front of the hotel, with dozens of rocking chairs from which you can gaze out on the mountains. There is al fresco dining on the porch as well.

Our room was comfortable and clean, the wifi reception was fine and the staff helpful. We had a problem with a faucet in the bathroom and it was repaired within minutes. This hotel is close enough to wonderful restaurants, shops and attractions to make it a great place to stay. Even the drive down from the Eagle Mountain House, through the neighboring towns in a pleasure in itself! I would definitely stay here again if I ever get back that way.
