The Eagle Mountain House is conveniently located to the numerous White Mountain attractions and activities found in this all-season destination.

In summer, explore the endless miles of trails in the White Mountain National Forest by foot or mountain bike; kayak or canoe area rivers and lakes; cycle the country roads; take scenic drives to visit local covered bridges, cascades and waterfalls; attend a summer theatre performance at one of three theatre companies; enjoy a free concert outdoors under the stars; fly fish or just relax in one of the cool mountain streams. Be sure to take the kids to Story Land, a popular children's theme park for over 50 years and just a few miles away!

Fall is a time to enjoy the classic white-steepled New England villages painted every shade of red, yellow and orange. Shuffle through the fallen leaves as you stroll through Jackson stopping at shops and galleries along the way.

In winter, be sure to make plans to get outdoors and downhill ski one of 250 trails in the area; cross country ski from our door on the #1 touring center in the East; take a guided snowshoe nature walk; snow tube; ice skate indoors or out; go dashing through the snow in a horse-drawn sleigh ride then end your day relaxing in front of the woodburning fireplace in our lobby!

Anytime of the year, you can visit over 200 name brand outlets, specialty stores, antique shops and art galleries. Shopping everywhere in New Hampshire is tax-free! Plan an escape to just getaway and enjoy a massage, find time to read your next book, or sit back and enjoy the view!

Settlers' Green Outlet Village - (12 miles) an extensive collection of name-brand outlets offering significant discounts throughout greater North Conway. Especially good bargains can be found from Thanksgiving until Christmas. Plan a visit the Eagle Mountain House and pay for your stay with the savings you receive!
Downtown North Conway - (10 miles) a Main Street offering a collection of small shops and boutiques with the latest in outdoor summer and winter clothing, arts and crafts, hats, art work by local artisans, and much more.

Nordic (Cross Country) Ski Areas:
Jackson Ski Touring – ski right from the Eagle Mountain Hotel’s front door on the #1 Cross-Country Ski Area in the Eastern United States! Imagine a whole New England Village dedicated to Nordic skiing, with a white steepled church, covered bridges, and rivers with cascading waterfalls, sundry eateries, charming country inns and a hundred miles of ski trails. Discount trail pass tickets available to guests at the hotel front desk. The Jackson Touring Center on Main Street in Jackson offers equipment sales and rental, lessons and various programs throughout the winter season.
Great Glen Trails (18 miles) winter for us means cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snow tubing and incredible trips up Mt. Washington to the winter world above tree line. Early and late snow in Pinkham Notch and snowmaking ability extends the season even further. The base lodge that features Great Glen Outfitters, the Glen View Cafe, and a 2 1/2 story indoor climbing wall. The trail system at the base of Mt. Washington is surrounded by spectacular views of the Presidential Mountain Range and White Mountain National Forest. Cross-country skiers and snowshoer's of every ability can find trails and terrain to match their skills. They rent cross country skis and snowshoes so you can get out and enjoy our beautiful property.

Black Mountain - (2 miles) trails are visible from our wrap-around veranda and now in its 70th Season, the oldest ski resort in New Hampshire. Nestled among pastures and farmlands in the quaint village of Jackson, Black Mountain is the quintessential New England ski destination. Beginners can relax and improve their skills on Sugarbush and Black Beauty. Experts, test your skills on the super steep Mr. Rew or the winding narrows of Upper Galloping Goose. Check out the Lostbo Glades or Carter Notch for some of the finest tree skiing in the East. Whatever your ability, Black Mountain has something to offer.
Cranmore Mountain - (8 miles) located in North Conway village. The summit of Cranmore Mountain affords some of the finest views of North Conway and the Mt. Washington Valley. Prior to being developed as a ski area, Cranmore was known as Lookout Mountain.
Wildcat Mountain - (10 miles) Voted #1 for Scenery in the East, and Top 10 in the East for snow quality, terrain, challenge and value (SKI Magazine, Oct. 2004). Wildcat Mountain is one of the last vestiges of independent family-owned ski areas, featuring a winning combination: great location, great snow, and great folks.
Attitash – (8 miles) Attitash Bear Peak offers 70 trails and glades, 12 lifts including 3 quads, state of the art facilities including the Attitash Adventure Center dedicated to learn to ski and ride.

Story Land (3 miles) The children’s theme park where fantasy lives! Be sure to read about our Lodging Package which includes admission for the family! Story Land's location in the White Mountains means that green space, trees, and scenic views are important features of the park, which sits on 35 acres of hilly terrain. The rides and attractions are built into the natural features of the landscape.
Heritage New Hampshire (3 miles) An indoor attraction appealing to all ages ... Enjoy a walk-through theatrical adventure of historic proportions! Theatrical sets, audio-visual and special effects, and costumed characters and guides depict New England life and progress from untamed wilderness to twenty-first century innovation. It's all indoors and under one roof, in climate-controlled comfort.
Conway Scenic Railroad - (8 miles) Nostalgic train rides through scenic countryside. The “Valley Train” offers departures to Conway and Bartlett. The “Notch Train” rides through spectacular Crawford Notch and the finest natural scenery in the Northeast. Choose coach or first class…or experience railroad dining aboard the Dining Car Chocorua.
Mt. Washington Auto Road (18 miles) The Northeast's highest peak, 6,288-foot Mt. Washington, will captivate you with its remarkable views of the Presidential Range, the White Mountain National Forest and beyond. The route, the views and the magic of this mountain sanctuary have remained largely unchanged since travelers began winding their way up Mount Washington in 1861. The "Road to the Sky" was an unprecedented engineering achievement and remains the first man-made attraction in the United States! Today, it awaits your personal voyage of discovery.
Great Glen Trails (18 miles) Something for everyone. And no matter what you do, the views and mountains of the Northern Presidential Mountains and White Mountain National Forest surround you. Take a walk along a stream and have a picnic, or try mountain biking at the base of Mt. Washington on our diverse trail system of carriage roads and single track. Bring your own bike or rent one of our high quality Cannondale mountain bikes. Great Glen Trails has exciting paddling programs with guided kayak or canoe tours on the lakes and rivers of Northern New England. Float through a wildlife refuge or challenge yourself in the rapids.
Wildcat Mountain Gondola Skyride (10 miles) Hampshire's highest 4-Passenger Gondola Skyride For the summer and fall seasons, the 6,700 foot Quad line is used to transport 4-passenger gondolas to the summit of Wildcat Mountain for spectacular views of Mt. Washington and eastward to the Atlantic. Join us for the 11-15 minute ride to the summit elevation at 4,062 feet. Gondolas run continuously so you don't wait in line. Spend as much time as you like at the top!
Cog Railway - (25 miles) Ride to the top of Mt. Washington on the world’s first mountain climbing railway! This 3-hour round-trip journey is New England’s most unique vacation experience. Climb aboard one of seven authentic coal-fired steam train as it climbs the Northeast’s highest peak! Ski Trains offer a memorable winter adventure for skiers and non skiers. Rain or shine.
