Keeping kids happy, even on a vacation, can be a real challenge -- but it's easy at any of Ski NH's kid-friendly winter resorts. The programs and activities for winter fun at these resorts have plenty of options for kids of all ages - from little tykes to teens. Programs for younger skiers combine personal attention, safety, and instruction along with the opportunity to make new friends on the slope. For older kids and teens, there's the exciting world of halfpipes, terrain parks, snowtoys, night skiing, snowtubing and any number of wild and crazy fun events to enter or watch.

BLACK MOUNTAIN:

Black is located just 2 miles from our front door and is known for it's family friendly atmosphere. The midsize mountain has terrain for all abilities and remains uncrowded even at the busiest of times. It's southern exposure offers skiiers and riders Sun and protection from the wind on those really cold days! Kids’ Programs: Black has programs for kids of all ages. Bear Cub is for ages 5-6, Black Bear is for ages 7-12 and day care is offered for the really little ones, 6mos. to 5 yrs. Their learn to ski program is offered every day and is available to all ages. Children under 5 ski for free and juniors, seniors, college students and military ski at a discount everyday! There is always something fun to do at Black for kids of all ages!

Cranmore offers a variety of family-friendly programs either by day or for an entire season.
Young Children: The Snowsports School has daily programs for young children, including a variety of Value Deals that package lift tickets with rentals, equipment, and lunch. Also offered are seasonal programs such as the Adventure Camp for ages 8-14, and the Penguin camp for ages 4-7.
Teens: Cranmore has become a major scene of activity for snowplay of all sorts - from traditional skiing and snowboarding, to activities like snowtubing or downhill gliding on snowscoots, snowfoxes, snowbikes, and skiboards. There’s plenty of terrain park and halfpipe activity; even beginner and intermediate sliders can have fun on banked corners, rolls, and jumps. Wildcat Tracks Training Center Children’s Programs: The Wildcat Tracks training Center starts kids as young as 3-5 with the Lion Cubs Snowplay Program. In the Lions Den you'll find full and half day programs available for ages 4-12, and snowboard programs for ages 8-12. For teens, and mom and dad there are lessons and rental packages for all abilities and consecutive day packages are available. Nursery care is also available for full and half days for kids ages 2 months-5 years at the Kitten Club Nursery.
First Tracks Pass: Participants (age 6 and older) take four learn to ski or ride lessons and get a free season pass for the rest of the season. Lessons are two hours each, and include lift ticket and rental equipment.

The Adventure Center: Located right at the base area, the Attitash Adventure Center has everything under one roof for families and kids. All learn-to-ski and learn-to-ride programs, children"s programs, seasonal programs, day care facilities, rental equipment, and adaptive programs for disabled skiers originate at the Adventure Center.
Young Children: The Buddy Bear Kids program (age 4-6) and the Adventure Kids and Low Riders program (age 7-12) include lessons and lift tickets.
Teens: For teens interested in joining seasonal programs that offer great instruction, exciting competition and peer camaraderie, there is the Attitash Racing Development Team, the Bump Busters Freestyle Team and the Snowboard Competition Team. Cross country ski from our door on the #1 network in the East, downhill ski at one of the five area mountains, join a guided nature tour on snowshoes, snowtube, ride the SnowCoach to above treeline on Mt. Washington or enjoy a horse-drawn sleigh ride during your winter stay at Eagle Mountain House.

Cross Country Skiing:
Over 450 KM of trails are available for exploration at six area nordic centers. Each facility offers trails for all abilities, rentals, lessons, learn-to-ski packages and experienced personnel to outfit you and answer your questions. Downhill Skiing:
Plan a ski trip to the town where it all began! Over 50 years ago, Black Mountain in Jackson just two miles from the Eagle was the site of the first ski lift in America. Now there are six area mountains within a short drive offering more than 300 trails and glades to ski on over 1325 acres of land. If you are not a skier, there are still plenty of activities to enjoy in the winter.

Travel the Mt. Washington Auto Road aboard their SnowCoach to above treeline for a truly unique winter experience. Snowtubing is available at Great Glen Trails, Black Mountain and Cranmore or try our very own sledding hill with your own tube or sled. Grab your snowshoes and explore the 788,000 acre White Mountain National Forest or rent a pair and explore the trails of a nearby nordic center. Ice skating is available either indoors or outdoors including our very own outdoor ice rink. Horse-drawn sleigh rides are a winter tradition in this classic New England Village. Wrap up in a blanket and travel through the woods along the river at Nestlenook Farm.
